According to Abbreviationfinder, TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. And TOEFL iBT stands for TOEFL Internet Based Testing.
General Information
The purpose of the test is to assess the level of English proficiency of people whose language is different. The TOEFL is an admission requirement for more than 6000 universities around the world.
The exam is administered online and you have to go to an authorized center to take it.
Note: Currently, in Latin America the official TOEFL can only be presented in the Internet mode; of paper and pencil; the computer version has been discontinued.
Structure of the exam
The TOEFL iBT lasts approximately four hours and includes four sections:
Reading Comprehension (Reading) measures the ability to understand short readings similar to academic texts used in colleges and universities in North America.
Listening Comprehension measures the ability to understand English as it is spoken in North America in an academic sense.
Oral (Speaking) measures the ability to speak English in an academic context.
Writing measures the ability to write in English based on an assigned topic.
(This section is the equivalent of the previously used TWE Written English Test.)
Each section of the exam has a time limit. The computer will signal you when the section begins and ends. Some tasks measure your ability to combine some of the above skills on the TOEFL iBT. For example: 1) read, listen, and say your answer to a question; 2) listen, and say your answer to a question; 3) read, listen, and write your answer to a question.

For graduate studies, universities consider a range of 88-100 for the iBT, equivalent to 230-250 on the CBT and 570-600 for the paper and pencil version. This depends and varies according to the selected universities and the program you decide to study.
