General information
The GMAT exam is presented by those interested in applying for admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. The results of the GMAT test are used to predict academic performance during the first year of the study program and are required in more than 1,500 graduate programs in Business Administration.
Structure of the exam
The GMAT test assesses general analytical verbal, math, and writing skills, and requires the student to complete two essays. The GMAT exam is administered by computer only in authorized centers.
Cost
The GMAT exam costs $ 250 US. This price may change without prior notice.
How to register
There are four ways to register for the GMAT. You can pay with a VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or JCB credit card. The credit card does not have to be in your name, you can use someone else’s with whom you make prior arrangements.

Score and results
The range of GMAT total scores is between 200 to 800 points. Most (two-thirds) of the results range between 400 to 600 points.
During registration, you will have to choose whether you want to get your results online or by mail. If you chose to view them online, you will receive an email about 20 days after the exam with an Internet page where you can view the results. After taking the exam, you will have the option to view the unofficial results. If you chose to send the results to a program, they will receive them approximately 4 weeks after the exam.
Validity
The GMAT exam is valid for five years.
Application centers
In Mexico, the GMAT exam is applied in the State of Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara. Please refer to the http://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT/Tools/2006TestCenterList.htm site to locate authorized centers in your region.
Preparation material
Several Educational Counseling Centers have preparation material for the GMAT exam, some of these materials are for internal consultation, home loan or are for sale.
The IIE has a list of preparation courses for the GRE, offered by schools and private teachers in the Federal District and the metropolitan area.
